Jane Pendleton Miller Jane lives in Northern California. She has for brief periods lived in ;Washington, DC and Pinner, U.K. She graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in Graphics, and went on to get a Masters in Painting with an emphasis in drawing. She has studied illustration at California College of Art, San Jose State University, with additional studies at City Lit in London. Her current work in illustration is focused on Children's book illustration. Recently her portfolio was chosen as most outstanding at the Northern SBCWI conference. Her past credits include: Cricket Magazine, Current Health, Step By Step Graphics, Health Advocate, Modern Curriculum press, Scholastic Press Ready Readers, Knight Ridder Newspapers, Utne Reader, and Weekly Reader. As a watercolorist she has participated in more than 20 exhibits, and one man shows. These include Rutgers University, Arizona State University, and Monterey Museum of Art. She has work in private and public collections including Arizona State University. Jane has worked as an exhibit designer and managed an art gallery. She financed her MA working as assistant to the Director at Flint Center for the Performing Arts. She has worked as a graphic Designer and set up the first Graphics lab at Monterey Peninsula College. She has taught full time at Monterey Peninsula College, and Part time at De Anza College, San Jose City College, Evergreen College, and for University of California Extension at Santa Cruz. Jane is also a long time member of the "Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators" Her current work is in watercolor and ink and collage. She continues studying and finding innovative ways of presenting her images.
